Regarding your tank, what just grinds your gears?

I know that with my tank, having every coral do great except one coral always grinds my gears. So it got me thinking, about what grinds everyone's gears. Maybe it is a specific fish being a pest, algae issues, or simply equipment not working properly. Photo Credit: @mk_reefs

GSP. I like it but it reminds me of kudzu lately and has become the highest maintenance chore in my tank.

My green clown goby went missing and I assumed it was dead, wrong. Turns out its been living in my overflow for weeks lol. Although it seems quite content back there it grinds my gears that I cannot catch it easily. It's such a tiny, quick fish that I cannot net it. I think the only way I can really catch it is using a hose to siphon it into a bucket but I don't wat to hurt it lol.

Flow grinds my gears. Seems like I just can't get my peninsula tank dialed in despite max power on my pump, random flow generating nozzle and wave maker on the opposite side. I suppose its my fault though with my aquascape but still :(

I had this issue for a LONG TIME. I put my pumps on one side and created a high flow side, it bounces off the end glass and comes back the other side, which became the lower flow lps side.

Flow is something that always confuses me. I'm always wondering if I'm getting enough, too much, too little, etc..

This isn’t an everyone thing but dog hair. My German shepherd’s hair gets on and into everything including my tank. On my light, in the water , stuck to the pumps in the water, filter socks , and the back sump areas. Drives me nuts!!! He has no care in the world either. lol

That I have such high pH in my pool and have to add acid to bring it down, but can't get the pH in my tank above 8.1 to save my life, even with daily dosing and the correct alkalinity. Like, WHY THOUGH?!

I've got a cat that sheds like crazy. Occasionally, I will see cat hair in my tank, so I get your issue with dog hair, haha.

Coraline on the glass.
I'm afraid the scraper is going to scratch the glass.

Edit:
Another thing, I wanted a black background on this new tank. I figured black hides my pumps, er, less noticeable. I have to keep them on low so the sand don't get blown away or mount them on the side panels. Low setting helps the cyano grow and I didn't want the PH on the sides. What's a guy to do?
