Hi all,

I have had this regal tang in the main tank over a week now. QTed and acclimated well, but has started showing a few white spots 2 days ago. I cannot remember if these have increased, but there is no drastic increase.

She is also following the leopard wrasse often and when at a stop she turns on her side as if offering herself to the wrasse.

All other fish are fine, no white spots or unusual behaviour.

There is no corals in the tank, i have read extensively in the past regarding potential ich but feel lost when it could be potentially happening in my tank.

I have attached a video of the regal tangs new behaviour around rocks, any advice or help would be great.

Thanks in advance

Best if video is provided via youtube. Also make sure it's done with purely white lighting. Can you also explain your quarantine method and tests used for the process?

Yes, we need a clearer video, I couldn't quite see what you are describing.

Hepatus tangs are prone to "mucus cones/plugs" that are larger than ich. These can be caused by stress (including ich in some cases) but sometimes go away on their own.

Image is quite dark and moving forward best under white lighting always. This fish is susceptible to skin irritations and mucus cones which it seems to have and at times mixed in with ich. Best treatment is using coppersafe in a separate tank at treatment level 2.25for a full 30 days. Often with this, other fish will show no signs but DO keep an eye on them for any out breaks. Monitor coppersafe level with recommended - Hanna brand copper test kit and increase aeration during treatment using an air stone

Sorry for the video guys, first time i have executed this for a forum. I have attached the link to this comment of a new video under white light.

I will look into picking up copper safe and test kit this evening to QT the tang.

Also apologies for debris in video, wrasse and valentini had a messy meal with nori.

Does appear to be ich. Best course of action would be the one mentioned above by vetterguy for all fish along with the tank going fallow. Here are some articles on the procedure.
