I am about to buy my next tank. I am torn between the redsea Reefer 525 G2+ or the new Eshopps Mariner 130.

Anyone have experience with both brands and willing to chime in on opinions on which to do? I know about the old seam leak issues for redsea but looks like the g2+ corrected the issues

The problem with Red Sea tanks is a design flaw in the stand. Reinforced seams won't do much if the problem isn't fixed. The whole bottom pane of glass is unsupported and eventually the bottom seam fails. I don't know if they have fixed it. If they have its probably a great tank. But I am not sure if they have and I wouldn't risk it nor would I ever buy a tank from them. I would get the Eshopps. Ive only heard great things from them besides the occasional tank failure. Much more uncommon than red sea.

Yea i think ill go Eshopps. My one concern is its an untested aquarium as it is so new and they are just getting into the space of larger systems. But the bottom bracing is reassuring.

I pick up my new Mariner 130 tomorrow, I cannot wait! I plan on putting a build thread together

Congrats on the purchase. You'll probably sleep better with the mariner. I have two smaller redsea tanks and all the reported seam failures have me a bit nervous. While I've had no issues I'm not sure I would purchase another. So far I'm loving my water box but it's a larger 330.7 so it has an 80 20 framed stand.
