So I totally forgot that the setup I bought has a UV sterilizer light plumbed in as well. Did some reading on that today, and curious about people's thoughts.

Between setting this up with Live Rock and sand (from gulfliverock), and the ReefMat and skimmer, after my reading I'm leaning towards the UV light being probably not necessary, except/until I encounter a problem, like algae, to which I can just turn the light on and let it hopefully help fix it.

Or am I way off, and I should run it as well :)
