Hello all,

Anyone have any Reefmat sump pictures to share? I am looking at buying an acrylic sump size around 30”-36” x 16-18” and looking at spacing ideas. Bashsea, trigger, etc. I will use a skimmer and would like a small refugium space (I may have to baffle that myself). Lastly the tank is a dual drain system.

Thank you in advance.

Sure. This is a retrofitted Red Sea 750XXL sump (~40 gallons) where I've removed the filter holders and media chamber to create a horizontal chamber all along the front. The overflows come in just to the immediate right of the image, flows into the ReefMat, through the weir to the skimmer/reactor chamber in the back and then to the right under the ATO reservoir and the return pump.

Nice. Is the 500 burning through a lot of floss on a larger tank like yours? I’m debating on the 1200 for a 120 gal system.

1 roll every 12-14 days. I’d use less with a 1200 but the more expensive roll would work out to about the same price.

I just installed a Reefmat 1200 in a 40 breeder that includes a large skimmer (10x12” footprint) yet managed to also put a small refugium section. To hang off the edge I did have to dremmel out a bit of the black rim on the tank (the ledge of the rim that normally supports a glass lid) so the Reefmat could hang properly. Very happy with this setup (i upgraded my sump to the 40 breeder just for the Reefmat).

What sump did you end up getting?

I had same issue recently I ended up with a Trigger Systems Ruby 36 for my 90g tank divided second section for skimmer/refugium: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/b...pre-made-sump-selection.956918/#post-10919269

Ended up buying the Marine Depot Trigger sump 36gal (probably the last one ever made since they are out of business now). Just going to run filter socks for now. Has enough space for Reefmat but I’ll have to relocate the drain pipes to feed into the Reefmat
