Hi all,

I am getting back to reefing and want to ask few questions about the tank chemistry to make sure to have the best tank as possible.
I am looking to send in ICP samples, which one is ok to use? I’m looking at Fauna Marin as my friend suggested. Any better choice out there?
What do you do to correct your water parameters? I just know one, it’s called reef moonshine, but that can break your bank tho lol.
And suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

I use triton for icp, dosing ( core7) and supplements for trace
Can’t say I’m super impressed to be honest , many use all for reef and seem to have less problems than me

What sort of question are you trying to ask? My answer may vary with the question asked.

Also, in a new tank I'm not sure I'd do ICP at all.
It was an existing fish and rocks only tank from my friend. So I moved everything home. It has been 6 months. PO4 and NO3 are still high, .45 PO4, and 12 for NO3. However I brought those down more than half since I am doing water changes 50% every 10-14 days. At this time, I got macroalgae and Cheeto refugium along with algae scrubber running.
That is why I wanted to send in ICP to see what else needs to be corrected before corals.
Current just have some mushrooms and toads.

OK, if it might have had copper, it would be useful to test.

IMO, Oceamo via moonshiners is the company I'd use to assess trace elements.

If its just the major ions you want to assess, then other companies are likely OK.
