Introduction
Let me start by saying it is an honor to have been selected by Reef2Reef for a reef spotlight. My love for this hobby goes back to age 3 when my grandfather got me a goldfish. The funny thing is that I can’t remember one day in my life that i have not had some kind of fish I was taking care of. I don’t think i will ever upgrade but I am throwing the idea around to redo this tank very soon. I’m out of room and I can’t stop buying corals ...so only time will tell and if the wife gives me the money for an upgrade. All I can say to the new people in this hobby is take your time and it will pay off. My tank took 6 years to get to this point. Once again, I want to thank all you for this great honor.
How long have you been doing this?
I’ve been keeping reef tanks for about 6 years, but I’ve had aquariums for about 30 years.
Who is responsible for getting you into the hobby?
My grandfather bought me a goldfish when I was five and that was the beginning. Since then, I’ve never stopped and I’ve had some kind of fish for the last 30 years.
Who or what in the hobby most influences/inspires you?
I’m inspired when people walk in the house and are speechless after viewing my tank. There are also several tanks here on R2R that have influenced me.
What are your future plans for improvement/upgrade of the tank?
There aren’t any upgrades in the works at the moment, but I plan on removing some zoas and adding a bit more SPS.
Any Final thoughts?
I just want to thank all the people that have helped me along this crazy hobby’s path. Thanks guys! To the people just getting started, take your time and remember that you get what you pay for in this hobby.
