Reef spec carbon turning my skimmer black?

Hi, I was running reef spec carbon through a bubble magus reactor, but took it out as the skimmer foam was like a dark grey. Now running Nutri Fix bio pellets but my water seems cloudy.

Before use I always rinse through a bucket of RO.

Want to add carbon again to try and clear the cloudy water but don't want to not sure what I was doing wrong?

Tank only been running a matter of 6 weeks

Rinse the carbon first then keep the carbon from tumbling.
i use accurel extreme in a reactor and have no issues with it breaking down as long as its not crushing itself slowly from tumbling.

Hi, thank you, how do I do that? From what I know I can't control the flow speed on the bubble magus

You can add a small ball valve on the effluent flow line.
