Hi, I’m Alex from Quebec City and I’m new here. I currently have a water box 20G cube that’s been running since 2021 with clowns and had a few suicidal anemones (though Nero 3 pump). I recently got into LPS corals about a year ago although I always had mushrooms in the tank.

I know this might be a boring topic for many. However, for me personally, good organisation was the key to stay on top of my tank maintenance and testing parameters.

Looking for a thread specific to saltwater station/room organisation and I couldn’t find any. Was hoping to start a new thread on this topic alone for people to share their thoughts on how they organise and what was a game change for them. Open to hearing everything from how you sort your stuff in your saltwater room/ maintenance storage area to game changing gear or ideas you implemented that really made it easier for you to stick with the hobby. If you suggest auto water changes please share how if it’s to containers you swap out on the side of the tank or through the floor, ducts or drop ceiling and the challenges you faced through it all.

Cheers,

Alex

Seriously. I have to be more like you. I am so disorganized. My electricity plugs under the tank are almost scary because it looks like a giant cat hairball.

How do keep it so neat?

I still have to organise the cables under my tank, but at least it doesn't get in the way of maintenance. For my reef ops room, I used my daughter's old craft room's pegboard from IKEA so that everything has its place. I use a hydros wifi strip to control RODI, and pumps and run a 20ft python tube from my salt water reservoir to the tank for water changes. For me, as long as everything has its place it works out. No need to break out the labeler just yet :grinning-squinting-face:
