I have a 125g tank build coming up, and was considering either a RO Elite 150sss 6" skimmer or a NYOS 160. I think they should both skim great, but I care a lot about how quiet they are.

I currently have a NYOS 120, and it is pretty much silent. I've compared it with a lot of other skimmers, but it's quieter than any other DC skimmer I've tried so far (except there wasn't a Reef octo small enough for my tank to try).

I have VarioS-2 and VarioS-4 pumps and they are also extremely silent. So just wondering how the Reef octopus 150sss compares? Has anyone had both the NYOS 160 and the 150SSS that can give me some sense of sound?

Somewhat off topic, but what size tank / bioload do you have with the NYOS 160?

It’s in a Red Sea S650 (about 150g) and massive bioload
