I have a trigger 39 sump that I'm going to cut the sock section out of to fit a reef mat. The 1200 is going to be a really tight fit since Im running a big skimmer. Would a 500 handle the 240? I have diel durso overflows so the water flow isn't crazy, about 500 gph through the sump

1200 is a lot better for a larger tank but why not sell the sump and buy/custom order a bigger one for the job vs cut the sump?
I haven't been able to sell this sump for a few months now and I really don't want to spend 800+ on a custom sump
