Hi everyone
I’ve recently purchased 3 smart testers and they function terribly. I wanted to raise attention and see if anyone else has dealt with this problem

When using the smart tester I’ve realized that it’s only compatible with phosphate reagents and when using the magnesium reagents I get constant error of “can’t clean pump 3” despite the fact pump 3 is also functioning just fine.

Has anyone else had constant issue with the smart tester from reef factory ?

But using the same smart tester, when I change the reagents back to phosphate they work just fine. I’ve even tried using brand new magnesium regents but magnesium seems not to be compatible

I can’t speak for the magnesium test but I have had my smart tester running the phosphate test for only 17 days and the roller on the waste water dosing pump cracked so it wasn’t able to drain the cuvette and I was getting errors because of it.

Hopefully BRS can make a quick warranty claim and I will also try and buy a spare reef factory dosing head

These reef factory dosing heads on the smart tester are a very weak almost 3d printed plastic design. No where near a Kamoer dosing head quality .

Yes I agree as my pump broke inside for the 2nd time in the past 7 months of usage. I run my device multiple times a day and I ended up with the same issue as you. Don’t even bother magnesium reagents. I’ve gone through everything and you won’t be able to make it work.

Garage garage devices. Even though the phosphate results are on point everything is terrible about these smart testers.

I have to call BRS tomorrow for my 10th replacement as I have 3 of these stupid devices.
