I have a single amazing 5" red stripe anthias. I want to add some other anthias. Does anyone know if these play well with others? Not much info out there on them.

The trick is getting a lot all at once to spread out aggression. I've never had a red stripe. I have a bi color that's in charge in my tank and he's around that size.

That's what I was thinking. I actually bought a group of 9 dispar from Live Aquaria last year and lost them all to uronema in quarantine.

Maybe I should just try 6 lyretails?

My tank is a 220G, by the way.

I have gone away from the big schools of single species Anthias to just pairs of multiple species. I find less fighting between different species. Just some BAU squabbling but not to the point of killing each other. I have lyretails, bimacs, squarebacks, dispars, red bar, & sunsets.

Just to answer my own thread... a few days ago I added seven dispars to the tank. The red stripe looked very mad while I was floating them in bags in the tank. When I released the dispars the red stripe chased them a bit. After ten minutes he lost interest and has paid them zero attention ever since.

I had a two-year run where I kept 3 Lyertails (2F1M), 3 Bimacs (2F1M), 1 Squareback (1M), and 3 HUGE Red Stripe Anthias (2F1M). They were added in the order listed. For a long time, all was well. Then one day the male Squareback decided he wanted to be the only Anthias and killed all the other Anthias with the exception of Red Stripe anthias who died from never eating. I now have 1M2F Squareback Anthias.

Here is a video of a few of my anthias .... RIP.
