Hi,

I am new to this hobby and was wondering if somebody can answer my question. I have a Red Sea reefer 200 g2 w/sump. I just installed a Red Sea filter mat 250. It says to run the pipe to my overflow return pipe which I did. Now with everything installed my question is what do I do with the emergency over flow return pipe? Was I suppose to remove the filter sock tray and baffle glass that separate the return water area from the rest so the sump?

Welcome to R2R! :)

I don't have this tank or that filter but others here do. Do you have some pictures of how it is set up now?

My understanding is that the overflow pipe would be connected to the flexible inlet hose of your reefmat 250. I don't think there is any connections to the return pipe needed.

I have the same system. Take the flex tubing, and run it to the far right plumbing line (overflow inlet). You want to take the filter sock rack out, as you won't be using it. That is what the reefmat is for. Your emergency line will just plumb into the same spot as your inlet, just directly into the water. You won't use the emergency often, unless your inlet gets clogged.
