Hello,

I’m setting up my first sumped tank and I’m installing a Reefmat 250. I’ve used the supplied pipe joining solvent but I’m finding the clean up challenging. I had wrongly assumed it would evaporate like normal solvent but this is obviously a different compound.

I can probably clean this up with a bit of isopropyl alcohol, but further into the corrugated flexi pipe there will be the odd bit down there out of reach.

I assume it’s going to be toxic to livestock, so any thoughts on cleanup?

Alternatively, if anyone could even tell me what this might be then I can try do some reading about it. It's clearly not the usual solvent cement so I'm lost what to search (I'm no plumber!)

All the solvent I have used dry and are completely inert after drying.

Is there a bottle you can take a pic of?

This is what I'd have assumed too. Most solvents melt the plastic to make the join but this is a white "paste" type adhesive. It has joined the parts, but the bits exposed are still slightly tacky and can be scraped with my nail.

Unfortunately it came in blank white tube within a sealed blank vacuum bag. The external bag for this just has this label.

No mention in the instructions what it is nor is there any MSDS.

It obviously works, you'd like to think RS only include the correct accessories, but the lack of data surrounding it is a little frustrating.

I would think it's fine.
If it's not hardened then that's what they intended and is fine with aquarium use.
I don't see anything alarming in the ingredients.

Thanks, appreciate your thoughts on this. Certainly calcium and carbonate are safe enough for me to dose so fine for the pipes!

Shame they give such little information about it. Time to get it installed and leak test the tank.

Man I love setting up new tanks, never gets old no matter how long I've been doing this hobby.
