Picked this up at the LFS yesterday, it wasn't even mounted and the salesperson didn't know what it was. I've a sneaky suspicion that it's a chunk of red planet that needs some serious PAR to colour up properly. The only thing that causes me to doubt is there is no green at all it's just solid pink. If anyone has any further info especially on placement, lighting etc. I'd be grateful.

No Canon EOS but the Tamron comes in both Canon & Nikon mounts. You can pick them up quite cheap 2nd hand on that well known online auction site.. It's a Tamron 90mm F2.8 macro.

For what its worth, my Red Planet never had any green at all and it grew into a relatively large colony. Possible that higher par brings out more reds rather than greens (my colony sat right underneath the Radions, pretty high up).

Yep, red planet or not I'm fairly sure it's a high light / high flow coral. I'd even be happy if it didn't change colour I rather like the bubblegum pink.
