Rare fish adding

Hi everyone, 7’ by 26” by 26”.
Current fish are:

Banana eel 12”
Hi fin snapper 8”
Naso tang 9”
Magnificent foxface 7”
Blue throat trigger 5”
Achilles tang 4”
Powder blue tang 4”
Purple tang 4”
Bi color angel 4”
Polleni grouper 5”

Here are the wishlist fish
A shark and ray
A wrasse or two
Golden puffer
Minautus grouper
Golden Tahiti hawkfish
Blue ribbon eel
Long horn cowfish
Assorted tangs

This tank is heavily filtered. I also have a UV.

Also, I’m gonna start trying coral for the first time! So lmk if any of the new editions aren’t coral safe

Id skip the puffer. And recommend reconsidering a ray with that rockwork (not much room lateral room for it once it grows)

If I fix the rocks, how would you make them? Just less in general? All against back wall?

If I was absolutely set on a ray and keeping those rocks Id rearrange it so theres more open room in the center. Maybe take that pile on the right and turn it 90 degrees

Im honestly not sure your tank is big enough for a ray. They also require a ton of food. @Jay Hemdal will probably be the biggest source of info on that topic

I'd skip the corals. In a tank with a heavy fish load like this, you are going to battle high nutrients levels. Plus, you may need more lights. Finally, with all those fish, unless you quarantine them REALLY well, they could bring disease into the tank. It is much easier to deal with fish diseases if there are no corals in the tank.

Regarding your wish list, here are my thoughts:

A shark and ray - NO, the tank is too small, with too much rockwork
A wrasse or two - yes, if large enough that the threadfin won't eat them.
Golden puffer - no, too nippy
Minautus grouper - maybe, will get large enough to eat smaller fish
Golden Tahiti hawkfish - maybe, if you can find a larger one
Blue ribbon eel - no, these need to be kept in a "species tank" and they are very delicate
Long horn cowfish - no, they are delicate long term
Assorted tangs - maybe, but the powder blue may get territorial with them

If I take out a lot of the rock, would a shark and ray be okay? How does the new list look?

I’d still skip the shark and ray, even with no rock at all. Epaulettes reach 30 to 36” and bluespot rays are really delicate and prone to having their eyes picked out by other fish.

Agreed. I absolutely would NOT stack against the back wall.
