in most cases, it is the same delivery person for years so it is worth to know your delivery person. \

No, not anymore it isn't. Used to be like that, not so long ago even. I got to know their first names. Now it's just various people that change at random intervals, many of whom have less than stellar command of English. It's a shame, but I don't blame the USPS. Anyone who knows anything about the history of how the USPS got into this position in the first place, including the many impossible financial demands and constraints that Congress put on it that NO private business has ever been subject to, despite demanding that it be run like a for-profit, virtually guaranteed that it would become a shadow of its former self. Make no mistake, this was an intentional action on the part of Congress, and designed to decrease USPS competition with carriers like Fedex and UPS. So before attacking the USPS, educate yourself as to the cause of the problem; your corporate-owned legislators made the USPS suck, and they did it deliberately.

They all suck in there own special ways, kinda like musical chairs who will it be this time. Ship toilet paper no problem, try to make a claim when they rip you off, they well circle their wagons and lie and cheat even more. My driver will not even knock on the door or ring the bell, I had a live delivery on the hottest day of the summer, yeah no knock.

I've actually had much worse luck with ups than usps. Ups LOVES to give all my packages to neighbors.. my only problem with usps is I never get my mail/packages until evening time which can get annoying when I have to sign for something

The animal that delivers in my area for USPS is illiterate in his native language and cant speak english let alone read it! Everybody in my neighborhood gets the wrong mail so often that it has become a social event delivering other peoples mail to each other. The tracking is always at least one day off. I contacted the genius in charge & he was just as bad.
The thing is many venders offer the free shipping now to compete and USPS is the cost.
This is why I always shop my LFS first but the choices are limited.

Frequently even if shipped via FedEx, UPS or some other service, the "last mile" is delivered by your local USPS. I don't think you can do anything about this.

I generally try to avoid USPS, but now that they have a partnership with UPS sometimes you think it's coming UPS, but it shows up 3 days later from USPS.

Just yesterday I had a package that required signature. They never knocked or rang the doorbell (my wife knew they came because the dogs were barking), but put a tag that we had to pick up the package at the local office. This was an amazon purchase that was listed as being shipped UPS.

Get a PO box. Now they are 100% accountable. I agree that they suck though. I had similar problems with a local carrier in california Golden State Overnight when delivering fishing equipment. Deliverying to a post office box, removes tge “we left it on your doorstep” excuse. I believe it’s 90% driver fraud or local thieves.

Well I must say the Renton, WA post office stepped up. I managed to reach them directly. They were able to determine that when the item was scanned as delivered the carrier, not our usual one, was a street over. After 2 days of reaching out to the person on that street the carrier was able to get my packages back and hand delivered them. I'm still not thrilled with their overall accuracy but I'm happy they took the time, owned up to their error, and delivered my stuff.

My mailman is awesome!!! I'm lucky. If he sees a package marked LIVE he makes a special trip before he does his route. ( I get him an energy drink about once a week )
