Congrats. I’ve had my 200xl for about i year. I’ve had a lot of ups and downs. But still fun and worth it.

Decent update , from last update I had gone to Puerto Rico for a week so I literally had a stagnant tank for that. I came back and had to drain it AGAIN because it was too close for the light mount to go on so I had to move it away from the wall more but last night I got some good progress, stayed up till 3am. I have work now :) but I got the equipment all in. It looks pretty . ( minus the cable management right now ) but it looks pretty !

I’m only running the mp10 because I didn’t have enough focus to figure out the sump level and skimmer. But I woke up to a pretty tank :)

Can I run this light at 5-10% and ramp it up 5% each 2-3 days ? Or just keep it off .

since then. We’ve made some updates. Got some fish in. Got a co2 scrubber installed to jump the pH to 8.1-8.2. Great addition !!

Clowns went in after a few days of stability. YellowT followed 1-2 weeks after.

The clowns have hosted a spot finally.
yellow tang finally is eating meaty foods with seaweed !! Took me a month to get that thing to eat meaty foods.

Well, got my water tested yesterday.
Everything is pristine . Cycle is done for sure and everything is converting nicely.

only issue was my alk was running around 8 with 380 calcium. So I began to dose code A and code B daily to get them up.

Added my first coral , and believed the Duncan was the way to go.

Beautiful update. All corals have been thriving.
Decided to go more SPS heavy vs mixed reef as my acros have been doing well.

i had a small diatom bloom & that went away after a few days. Parameters have stayed stable for weeks now. Alkalinity 8.6-9.3. Might try and slowly lower to 8.

pH wouldn’t ever go above 8.1! I built a small PVC stand to put the skimmer at the correct height and instantly I got better flow in the co2 scrubber within an hour. 8.2 pH!

yesterday I picked up more frags for the tank and they’re already getting good polyp extension! Don’t mind any that look stressed, just moved them to final placements.

trying to move around soft corals still or deciding if I want to sell them.

i definitely want to keep the torch and hammer, and favia

Update August 21st

What’s new :

  • Some corals were sold and some were brought in.
  • added a side shelf for electrical !
  • A diffuser and nem guards were added
  • Inkbird with a new heater as the old one went bad during my vacation !! (Fun times)

today we did

  • 20% water change as my coralline is setting in and my ALK was for once low. Nitrates we’re crazy high at 50 and phosphate at .4.
  • Ph booster change
  • Skimmer clean out

Full tank shots:
