Guys, I did some PAR testing on XR-15 G5 Blues and G4s on my IM SR-80. I created a video on it and posted it on youtube. This is my first youtube video so please go easy on me. My main goal was to get the information out there as I don't see much info on XR-15 G5s. Oh and please do like, comment and subscribe!

Hi Ameer- thanks for the vid! Can I make a request, are you still able to dial the gen 5 blues to a 12k spectrum ? If so, can you please take a phone pic of your tank with gen 5 running a 12k program ?
I ask because I currently run the sps ab+ program but when I need to take pics or vids of my tank, I quickly change into the 12k spectrum because it makes it easier to get the phone to white balance... I am thinking of upgrading to gen 5’s from gen 3’s and I am trying to decided if I should go with the pro or blue version... I would only go with the blue if am still able to shift the lights to a more white spectrum for photos or vids

thanks a million!

That shouldn't be a problem. Do you know how I need to set the lights to get 12K spectrum? If you can show me a pic of your settings for 12K, I can try to replicate it.

Here is the thing / I am not sure if my setting for 12k on the gen 3 will work for the gen 5 blue. Are you controlling these via ecotech smart live ... if so, I think you can preview the lights via their color wheel where you choose value from 20k to 5k... for my gen 3, 12k is approximately 100% on all channels, but I think 100% on all channels will be very blue on the gen 5 blue.... how about this, can you take a pic of the tank with just the white lights on ... is there enough juice from the few white diodes to take decent pics of the tank and corals without the use of any filters.... thanks
Ps. Here is an example of pics taken in my tank with 12k spectrum without any post processing or filters

I took these pictures with mostly white and a little blue and green. They were taken on a note 8 phone. No filters.
