I see what looks to be skeletal growth on a few of my torch corals. Wanted to confirm if this is indeed new skeleton growth? Not to much info on the web showing what torch skeleton look like in the process of growing another head.

2nd question I have a Goni with looks to be a feather duster in the middle of the colony. Seeing how everyone says go I are sensitive creatures, will this upset the colony down the line?

If you could provide better picture/ close up of both
Looks like a sponge to me in first pic, 2nd pic... possibly aiptasia or hydroid.... I think from photo provided I can just make out skinny tentacles but difficult to see.
Just my quick info/ :) :)

As close and clear as I can get, I don’t think it’s a sponge as it’s hard like skeleton

As far as the Goni, I would have to disturb it to get it to close but I’m sure it’s a feather duster because it closes/hides as well when disturbed

Long term is it harmful?

In regards to feather duster.., a great addition if it's a baby, mine grown out of a very large mushroom I had :)

I very much doubt.. 99% sure from first pic is definitely not skeleton growth on your torches.

you have spirobids which have a very similar calcium based Skelton/shell (the circular shell type/white things)
Which again are great filter feeders however can become invasive, vermited snails also create a 'indestructible' shell in regards to size, they spit out a mucus to form a shell/ tube.

Besides noticing these growths are your torches happy? I would only intervine if they show signs of distress

Now I know what’s on one of the zoa frags.

Tried to get a pic of the possible feather duster on the Goni but every time I fed it the Goni popped right back out.

Torch is doing excellent though

Your 'goni' , I had a GSP that had a 'ball anemone' kinda looked cool, did no harm to mine, acted same way :)

Let it grow
Good to know, how is it carrying for those sun coral? Yours look healthy. I know you have to feed them constantly

I see them at my LFS and they aren’t doing well
