I already had the Innovative Marine Skimmer and it didn't work well. I am looking for other options. Any suggestions? I tried the Fluval Mini but it doesn't fit in the back chambers and leaks and the adjustments seem to do nothing.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I ordered this one. I am going to give it a shot. I will have to hang it on the side of the tank most likely, which won't allow me to use me to use my screen top. Hopefully, no fish jump.

I use this skimmer in my IM 30L in one of my chambers. I do not know if the chambers are the same. I also use the eshopps nano skimmer a lot. high regards with that.
IOAOI skimmer
Can you measure the distance in the back of your AIO so I can compare to mine? I don't think that will fit in mine.

3-4g weekly water change will do more than a skimmer
Only corals notice a water change... But your peeps will notice a skimmer cup sticking out of your AIO filled with a brownish poop smelling liquid. I mean, how cool is that! Right?
Besides removing stuff from your tank, skimmers can be a great gas exchange PH boost, or.... a way to lower your PH depending on how much Co2 is in the immediate vicinity.

I already do 4g a week on my 20g.

It takes me about 3 minutes to do that water change. I have a stupid fast pump, two buckets, and a 3d Printed disperser. I suck the water out in about a minute, then about another minute to put it back in. I pump it into a HOB disperser that distributes the water evenly and doesn't stir anything up. The longest part is producing my RO water.

I have 5 fish in my 20g which is a large bio load. I do need a skimmer. I tried the Innovative Desktop Model skimmer and it was absolute crap. I am currently using nitrate remover pellets. They work great but I need a decent skimmer.

To be honest, I don't really see the connection between the skimmer and water changes. The skimmer doesn't free you from water changes at all. With water changes, we add a bunch of microelements and remove what we can't measure with tests. Of course, you can dose the microelements, but without a regular ICP test, I think this can play a very cruel joke at some point.

I have the M-50 Mini Hang-on External Protein Skimmer running in my tank now. I had to hang it on the side. I am taking a risk of fish jumping until I can build a custom screen. Plastic wrap for now. It seems to be easy to adjust. I have the water flow turned down low and the air turned down low so I can get dry skim. It seems to be a very nice skimmer for the price.

Here is a pic from the first 4 hours. I have since turned the air down a tad because I want a more dry skim.

Also, there is an overflow tube that comes with it that is about 6"s long but larger than standard air line. I had other larger tubing that fit over this. I made a longer line into a bucket just in case.
