In the past few weeks I have noticed my bubble starting to stretch at certain areas and look like balloons. I’m wandering if this is ok. Please any feed back would be appreciated. It’s been a ruff month between Zoapox, velvet and now this.

I have seen mine doing this only after being out of the water during a waterchange for some time.

I guess it is a sign of stress and could be caused by a lot of factors in your tank.

It has not been out of the water in almost year so I’m good there. All my parameters are spot on. Phospates .13. Calcium 465 kh 10 ammonia 0. Nitrates 0. Nitrites 0. Magnesium 1275

You dont want zero nitrates. I had one in my main tank that had very low to zero nitrates and phosphates and it slowly started to decline and looked like this:

I then moved it to the tank in my bedroom that has more neutrients and less flow and it looks like this now:

I wouldn't say yours is declining like mine was, but I'd be worried about the big bubble getting damaged and getting an infection. Have you made any big changes with your tank, as in big swings in anything? I'm not sure what to suggest other than keep an eye on it, they can be quite resilient as shown in my pics.

I'm sure others may have had the same experience with theirs, and can help more than me.

My nitrates usually are around 5 . The only change is for the past month I’ve been dosing acro power and coral snow plus. I did add Seachem focus and Metroplex to food I was feeding the fish since I was having problems capturing them. We have lost all of our tangs but the yellow tang due to velvet I’m assuming. I’m at the point I’m thinking of tearing down the rock structure to capture all fish so I can foul out tank. I’m afraid of adding any more fish at this point since we have lost 8 fish 4 tangs, 2 triggers, and 2 other ones. A huge colony of Zoas from zoapox with 2 other colony being hit right now as well . I was unable to get any furan2 online because of the Coronavirus. This was 3 weeks ago. Wensday the furan 2 will finally arrive but the damage has already been done. It’s quite depressing. When I turn off power heads the bubbles footprint is almost a foot wide so I would really be depressed if something happened to the bubble. Sorry for the rant. I appreciate everyone’s input.

Yes the bubble looks so much better. Maybe I’m stripping the tank of nutrients?

In the same tank I originally had the bubble coral in I bottomed out both nitrates and phosphates and I lost all my sps and my lps were struggling, this caused cyano. I only use salifert test kits to test. It has taken me 3 months of dosing and testing to get my other tank back where I want it.
