Years ago I planned to build a 40b reef and started buying parts. I didn’t want to drill the tank and researched HOB overflows and I read about the KollerCraft Rapids Pro Overflow Box, and reading about the way it works and prevents backflow, and self primes makes it extremely safe and reliable. It has a built in return nozzle / line also. Complete all in one, with safety features built in for power outages.

There isn’t another like it to my knowledge, and years ago it was very difficult to find one and now it appears the company is mostly closed down. I have been watching over the years and have alerts setup if this ever appears on eBay, it probably popped up twice in 8 years, and nothing recent.

I have the overflow new in box. Open box. But new and unused. Rated for 150g aquarium, up to 950gph

What would someone be willing to pay for this?

It’s safety and autonomous design. It’s a hob overflow that has a patented design, no company can copy. What makes it Unique is that It has the return output built in, and then a Venturi between the return output and the siphon input. Why does it have that?

In event of a power outage, the overflow will kill the siphon and will prevent the display from overdraining into the sump, preventing a flood.

When power returns, typically a hob overflow needs to be manually primed, to get the siphon restarted. If you aren’t around, then the return will regain power, drain the sump, and run dry and burn out.

With this design, when power returns, water flows back into the tank through the return tubing - normal so far - but the trick it has, is a Venturi line between the return and the siphon. So as power returns, the return pump starts pushing water in the tank, and this causes suction in the Venturi which is connected to the siphon tubing. Meaning, it uses the flow/force of the return water flow, to create suction into the overflow tubing, automatically rebuilding the broken siphon.
