Since the supply chain stinks right now, I am still waiting for my 2 WAV pumps to arrive for my 5' long 150 gallon tank. While I am willing to wait a few more weeks, my LFS threw out the idea of a single MP40 since they're powerful enough. My current plan is to either wait for the WAVs to get back into stock or pick up a pair of Sicce XDS when they do their next sale. I want to stay within the Apex programming sphere, so I am limiting it to those 3.

I'm curious how many would go with my plan vs. taking the MP40. The tank is just starting up, but I plan to do corals in the future if that play into the recommendations.

I gave up on the WAV years ago …. perhaps they are better now. I have a similar sized tank (in terms of length at least) and I do not find a single MP40 to be adequate. Perhaps if you just want to keep fish, but even with mostly softies like I have a second one was necessary IMO.
