I am wondering if my powder blue has something wrong with him or not. I have always thought that a powder blue tang's skin is very smooth looking, but when I inspect mine really close and it turns at the correct angle mine appears to have small random bumps on it. I am worried it mat be ich buy don't think it is, the bumps are random around his body and are the same color as his skin, there is not a lot of bumps either...they are small and can only be seen from certain angles. My yellow tang lets him know who is boss at least three times a day. He does not flash, eats well, hangs out with the group, and none of my other fish show any signs if anything.

My question is does this sound like ich, battle wounds from the yellow, normal skin texture, or something else. It is impossible to photograph as he does not sit still long enough and can only be seen from about a 30 to 45 degree angle. I will provide a photo of the fish itself though in a few when the halides turn on.

Additional info: He has been like it since I got him about two and a half months ago. I have already quarantines and copper treated him before he went in the tank and once afterwards.

Here's some pics of him I snapped with my iPhone, I think I'm being over paranoid as he looks perfectly healthy in the photos...but I promise you he had bumps in his skin.

I just lost a powder blue tonight which had ich and it started with small bumps on the skin. It will progress to small white dots and over the period of about 72+ hours they will disappear and reappear again. Get the fish in a separate hospital tank and keep it there for about 6 weeks if you feel it is ich. There are other mites and bacteria that will grow on the fish as well. Keep a close eye on these bumps and observe them to make sure they dont turn grey and spread over a larger area - this may be a fungus. The best thing though is to go on Google and just do an image search for ich, fungus and so on.
