LOL we have this tank, we call it the LPS Healing tank.
it doesn't get many water changes and the glass is constantly dirty
it has an unbelievable amount of bristle worms.

i know its not scientific, but put 2 and 2 together looks like 4 to me

My lfs throws nearly dead fish he gets in into the live rock pool. He says it's magical. Sounds like you have the same thing going on.
