macro is covered in GHA. This is the ONLY place in the tank that has GHA: on the macro. Will a peroxide dip kill the macro? Any other remedies?

Maybe I’m seeing something else but it looks like there are multiple spots. People use peroxide to kill micro and macro algae. I would vote no for a variety of reasons. The best way may be to trim the sections with microalgae

Yes, that won't work very well. As you can see, it's completely covered.

@vlangel @Subsea have you had any luck getting GHA off of smothered macros?

Thanks!

I cut my string of pearls back pretty hard when it had a similar infestation (and was the only place in my tank with it). The macro grew back relatively quickly and the GHA did not. I’d skip trying anything complicated and just use scissors and be done with it.

I would be afraid to dip macroalgae in peroxide. I have never dipped macros, I always prune off the problem area. In your case where the entire macro is affected I would remove the gha manually as thoroughly as possible and hope the new growth doesn't have gha on it. Then prune off the bad places.

Kudoes to this.

I have attempted to remove GHA from Bortacladia with peroxide when I commercially grew ornamental seaweed.. It was not a dip; I added peroxide to a monoculture grow out tank of Bortacladia with GHA invasion. At no concentration was I able to control GHA without killing Bortacladia.
