It does look worse - what antibiotic did you use? He's doing ok today, hump came back. Also, his tail looks worse from what I can tell. He also has developed a spot on his back much like his tail. Starting to get worried.

That may take 5 to 7 days to stop the infection. Then it may take weeks to heal.KanaPlex
Gotcha. Do I keep using kanaplex after the 6 days of treatment it recommends? He took his 3rd dose this evening. That may take 5 to 7 days to stop the infection. Then it may take weeks to heal.
After a full course of treatment, you’ll need to decide to repeat, stop treatment or switch to a different antibiotic.Gotcha. Do I keep using kanaplex after the 6 days of treatment it recommends? He took his 3rd dose this evening.
First, thank you for all the help! Second, the lesion isnt getting better and seems to be on the mend. He is more active and eating a ton. Do you advise to keep him in the hospital tank until fully healed or move him back to the DT?After a full course of treatment, you’ll need to decide to repeat, stop treatment or switch to a different antibiotic.
Because kanaplex has been reported to be toxic to some fish, I wouldn’t repeat it.
If the lesion isn’t getting larger, the kanaplex may have stopped it and what you are seeing is just granulation (healing) tissue. In that case, you could stop treatment.
If the lesion is growing, looks red, of if the fish has other symptoms, the kanaplex didn’t work, and I would try a different antibiotic like neomycin.

I typically hold a fish in isolation a minimum of 14 days after it has healed in order to avoid “backsliding”. Now, there will be a scar that can take some time to go away, I just mean once the lesion has started getting smaller, then wait 14 days.First, thank you for all the help! Sounds like a plan, I will keep him in the hospital tank. I've been testing ammonia every other day, today was the first day I saw any reading. Large water change incoming.I typically hold a fish in isolation a minimum of 14 days after it has healed in order to avoid “backsliding”. The only reason to move it sooner would be if the ammonia is not being properly controlled, that can be dangerous.

Sorry for the late update, I got very sick over the last couple days. But I'm back!Update please
Hopefully it keeps getting better. I love my porkys!! It's the fish that got me into the hobby and why I upgraded tanks 3 times in 2 years (220g).Sorry for the late update, I got very sick over the last couple days. But I'm back!
Guillermo is doing well. The wound seems to be healing a bit and he is very active and eating well. I've done a couple water changes to keep the ammonia down as it keeps creeping up.
Ya, they are awesome! Have a 150g right now but we will only be in this house for a year. Planning on a 250g or more when we finally move to our "forever" home.Hopefully it keeps getting better.
