Hi everyone,

I've got a 30 gallon tank with two clown fish in it and some hermit crabs. During the Tidal gardens Valentine's Day sale I picked up a few soft corals and one polyp of a Duncan. This tank has been up for months but since I plan to move in the spring or summer I never stocked it with coral. I figured soft coral would keep me happy and survive a move. Everything was fantastic but I noticed after about a week the Duncan seemed to close up more. This tank is straight instant ocean salt with nothing dosed. I did check nitrates and phosphates and they were a bit high. I did 30% water change twice this week so far and right now my phosphate is at .8 and nitrates look to be around 10 to 15. Temperature is good with an ink bird and I have two tunze 740 gph power heads near the top of the tank.

Since everything seems to be an order I stayed up one night with the flashlight and saw what it looked like a micro brittle star arm coming out of the Duncan's mouth. I later saw I'm more circular object float out of its mouth so I'm not sure if it's poop or a pest. At this point the Duncan looks as it does in the last picture I'm posting. It is pretty much closed most of the time. Just looking for any advice as I would hate to lose this Duncan. PXL_20220302_033635227.MP.jpg
