I’ve been watching these for the last couple of days, and I’m getting a little concerned. Two polyps on this zoa frag closed and are turning white. They’ve been in the tank for a couple of months. Any idea what would cause this, and is there a way to fix it?

Thanks.

Parameters? Have there been any recent changes to your tank? What about your lighting?
Alk 7.5
ammonia .10
calcium 424
mag 1386
nitrite 0
nitrate 3
salinity was a bit high 1.027

i was fighting an algae issue for about a week, but finally got that under control. I did go lights off for 2 days to control the algae.

i would be a little concerned with that ammonia. salinity is a tad high but you can slowly dilute that down. not saying its 100% the cause but i would start there.

This same thing has been happening to me and I can’t figure out what it is. The white tipped zoas end up melting by the others don’t. Have you changed or moved them, and adjusted their light or your tank lights in general?
