Here is how it finished up, The length I saved lines up the short piece of return hose perfectly with the tanks inlet. Otherwise it was going to be very awkward to get it connected.

I love excuses to use powertools.

I just hope it doesn't leak. I used the blue thread sealant goo. This is my first go around with the stuff. These threads aren't like NPT, arent tapered at all, and they never get tight. The unions that were included were the same way.
