Gday all,

Long story short, built this side table a while back and decided to put an aquarium on top of it.
Been using a cannister filter for about 8 months now and have decided to take the plunge and replace it with a sump
After a bit of modification to the side table and inserting a new cabinet carcass for support, I manage to find a sump that fits nicely in the new space (see pic 2) ps...doors to be installed :p
Back side of the tank (see pic 3)

I'm in the midst of planning for the plumbing and want some input to what I've drawn below (see Pic 4)
May plan for a secondary return line, but for now keeping things simple as it's space is a concern.

This is my first plumbing job :) so any input to what you would change and what fittings to use would be appreciated.

** Im going for the Penisula look, so the overflow will be located on the right side of Pic 1.
Bulkheads will be installed on the carcass (Back side see pic 3), that's why so many 90 degree bends

Looks like a solid plan to me. Nice drawing as well. You might get feedback from others on the 90 degree bends, but I have never had any issues with mine in the last 9 years with even more turns and about 25 feet of pipe between my DT and basement sump. I think the whole “avoid 90’s at all cost” mentality is generally overblown.
