You want the water level in those overflow boxes 1-2 inches beliw the weirs. Otherwise it will dound like a sloshing waterfall. You can order the pipes from Richard’s site.

Awesome thanks for the info !

Yea if you remember that wld be great . No rush
I know the sump is a ruby, the plumbing makes a u shape in those overflows and pulls it from the return pump. Im not the best at explaining, Ill get a picture tomorrow

I think I can figure the plumbing out , I may have questions ltr but I need to decide to either buy a large sump or to buy a tank and customize with baffle kit .

Personally I’m all about buying a premade sump. To me much less hassle. Just figure out where key pieces will go and stuff. Like filter socks vs fleece roller, skimmer vs charro, etc

Would it be possible / recommended to do it this way ? Durso drain pipe and emergency drain pipe in overflow #1 and a Durso pipe and return pipe in over flow #2 - WITH a second return line ran from from return line underneath tank over the back of overflow #1 . Wld this be the closest I cld get to a bean animal with just 2 drilled holes per overflow ?

Yea after looking at prices of a baffle kit plus cost of used tank I will be close to cost of premade sump .

Not necessary imo. Have been running dual dursos in this tank since 1999 with no issues. Look at the length of the two strainers. They both would have to be significantly blocked to have an issue.

Yea no **** I don’t know what I was thinking when I was gonna use one drain for durso pipe and an emergency drain next to it and a durso/ return in other. Then have to run another return over the back! Our tanks have dual overflows thus if you have a second return in other overflow YOU have an emergency drain. I’ll use the 3/4 “ to run returns. Other guy was right this doesn’t have to be complicated. Thx for input man

Ok so I have someone local selling a Trigger Saphire 39 for $375??? Seems pretty well priced saying they are $630 at BRS and currently $550 on sale there.
Sump looks well taken care of and she has the accessories that sump came with
Thoughts ?

I love my Trigger Saphire. It’s the CR44 or something like that.

That’s a bad biach! Love it man looks great. I looked them up and seems like yours is 44” and this one 39” but they are both similar price at BRS for around $550. So let me ask do you think your sump is worth $375 if you were to sell it ? I want to buy this sump bc I think it’s perfect for what I need but maybe I’m wrong but sumps are pretty basic and not much can go bad on them.

What if my tank is a 125 gallon and my return pump is rated up to 1350 gph. Some websites suggest at least 5x to 10x the tank's total water volume per hour
I had a very similar tank and ran a sicce 4.0 and durso plumbing configuration.
