I have had a similar experience with Sunny D's. One of the only morphs that has had a whole colony of 40 plus just spontaneously melt to a polyp or two with other Z/Ps still being fine

Yes do those!I think its all about conditions, but no idea what changes when melts happen. When they are happy, they do grow like weeds. Like everlasting gobstoppers too maybe i'll do that one...or fruit loops since they are on the list!
Name: fruit loops zoanthids
Hardiness: Known to melt frequently after harvest from source (japanese deep water) likely due to zoapox. Once established, can thrive if careful
Lighting: Medium
Flow: Medium
Growth Speed: slow grower, can produce 1-3 zoas per month for me
Despite these being deepwater zoas, they can adapt to mid tank light or possibly higher. Furan dips should be used upon receiving frag from fish store
Strange you say they grow slow but they are one of my fastest growers.
Why do you do a Furan-2 Dip if they have No POX?
This is a technique recommended to me by a vendor. Worked for me, i dont know if its because fresh frags are sick or have pox. Most times i've sourced these they melted eventually, but once they adjust to captivity they are fine.
We will probably all have different experiences. Bottom line is zoas that acclimate well usually grow well. Depending on how far from initial harvest they are and in the absence of other irritants of which there are many....
They'll grow fast, you just need to tell them you hate them, then they'll grow like weeds!I have never seen "Wild Fruit Loops" they are normally all grown from peoples tanks.
But any "Wild" Zoanthids I get either Die or Grow Super Slow or do not Grow at all.
I try to avoid "Wild Zoanthids" for that reason.
They are not used to Aquarium Life.
