Because this individual reached out to myself and a few other friends on TikTok. There is some context missing and I believe some other parts selectively forgotten.

First, this wasn’t a raffle it was a free give away. Anyone could enter for free. However, he offered those who purchased items to be given an extra entry towards the giveaway. There was no mandatory requirement to purchase things.

Second, I have spent well north of 5K with this business. I have had this business even purchase items from a vendor while they were at a show and send it to me. However that shipment was DoA. While it was not his company product he offered to replace it. So his customer service is very much on par. He is very active in the community including TikTok and Instagram.

Third, while I may not be an expert on this topic of the creature. His showing the invoice from ECC is above and beyond to prove what he sent you. You calling ECC to verify and pretending to be him was uncalled for and disrespectful. To me I know I have purchased these in the past and the lighting in my tank has played with what it may appear as.

Fourth, calling the owner non stop is harassment. You may feel you got something different. That’s fine to request prove and talk to the owner professionally. If he had something to hide he wouldn’t have given the invoice to you.

For others out here this business is very upfront and probably the most honest business I have dealt with. They have offered to replace items that have died shortly after delivery and I seen go above and beyond for people. Both owners are veterans and have no need to lie. I have also won items in their giveaways. If the owner said that is what he sent I am sure he believed that is what he sent based on the paperwork. Plus I believe he requested in the live he did for a video of it. I know he asks people from time to time to show videos off. Knowing that you got such an amazing piece he would love to have that video so he could also share to show off what his business sent.

He does keep items from shipping if they look like they aren’t 100%. He wants to make sure he is sending a quality product and truly cares about the customer. I had him do that to me on a hammer.

I would also remind people that there is two sides to every story. I am not saying this person is lying but he could just as well taken a picture of something else in his tank to smear a business. While I am a new member and have been in the hobby for not nearly as long as others I can tell you there is a reason why I have spent so much over the last few months.

I get the disappointment here in maybe not getting a true nexus burst, however, some points are being skipped over here. The vendor did show the anemone up for raffle, the same one OP posted, so it was clear what was actually being raffled. They may not have shown from day one of the raffle period, as they didn't physically have it then, but it was shown.

The raffle was also for much more than just a nexus burst, they raffled off over $1000 in corals, so if someone entered solely for the nexus, that's a huge chance, knowing hundreds of people were entering, some spending thousands for entries, and more than a nexus being given away.

So again, I get being mad you didn't get a nexus, but a free nem and coral were won and given. The nem was also shown off prior to the drawing so it was clear what was being given away. Either way, OP comes away with a few hundred dollars worth of coral and livestock, likely equivalent or more than the $600 put in, where as others put in over $1000 and won nothing.

A nexus nem lineage can come in different color combinations. They look like a rainbow nem and the amount of green in them changes their value. A 50/50 split being the most expensive. You can have a nexus with just one hair of green. You can also have a 50/50 split nexus that when it splits it ends up splitting all one color.

This seems like a case of misunderstanding and someone got happy they won something free and then someone planted an idea in their head which caused them to get upset and lash out.

Let's give the full story here since it's not being given with every bit of context or truth. We gave away not raffled 0 $ entry required gave free 99 over 1750 dollars away last month in free corals just in this give away not to include the 3 others we had that month just for being in one of our lives. There were many ways to enter. Liking our tik tok, Commenting, using promo codes as well as purchasing. There was over 500 entries, out of those 500. 7-10 winners just liked the post which was all that was required.

I purchased a nexus from ecc it did split op received one of the splits. I have 2 total nems the nexus in 1 tank and a Chicago in another. The nem was shown off 100 times to include through out the live asking for personal screen shots. The nexus had very fat tips on it at the time not really bubbles. A few sources said hey it can have a bacterial infection I would treat before sending it. I got cipro informed the winner and treated accordingly.

The day the package was supposed to go out we informed him with tracking from ups. Screen shots of the box and the label. That night at 8 pm the op proceeds to blow up my personal phone with multiple texts and calls stating his tracking not updating on ups site did I really send it and more. I assured them it was sent logged onto ups sent more screen shots were it had shown it was in transit and had departed my facility.

The next morning at 8 am the op is blowing up my phone again saying the package isn't arriving until following day somethings wrong I need to do something. I wake up and check inform him again sometimes ups is slow on tracking but it's 1 day ship and it's guaranteed if there are any issue we will handle it not to worry. Fast forward to about 11 am I'm getting more texts and phone calls he drove to ups facility to pick up the package but it was already out for delivery. So he had to drive back home and wait for it.

400 pm I get a phone call while taking photos from him. I answer the packaged arrived great he's so happy he's never seen a nem like this in his life thank you thank you thank you. 10 minute phone call he's so excited loves it the amount of praise is insane. (I might add we did do a live auction on the live for a few items which he did win. He never paid for those items and asked why they didnt get shipped with his nem). Later that night he makes a tik tok and someone says hey that's not a nexus you got scammed. I'm putting my children to bed and my phone is apparently blowing up it was on the charger and on vibrate. I have to this point been answering everything within 30 minutes but I apologize I do have children and a wife I didn't answer it was 8 at night kids bed time. When I finally get my phone I'm attempting to read my messages and I'm getting call after call so I answer. He tells me it's not a nexus I scammed him this that and the other. I inform him I will literally show you the receipt to ecc you seen the nem your in my lives 2 3 times a week. All our corals/fish/breeding is within the community so everyone always has full transparency. I tell him I will literally send you the screen shots receipts everything from ecc. Which I did. That night he emailed ecc and made this post. Fast forward to today.

We are driving home and I get this long paragraph about how he called ecc and they told him it's not a nexus I scammed him. So I did what any business owner would do and I called Ryan at ecc. Ryan immediately knew who I was, Ryan apologized as it's against ecc rules to talk to non vendors I don't know the miscommunication they had thinking it was me or a business im not them and cant speak for them. Ryan informs me of this post and he starts reading it while on the phone with me and says none of this is anything he said. Ryan however did explain to him splits/lighting/stress can cause variations in such coral. I spoke with ecc for over 1 hour in the meantime my phone again with texts from him he's over this he's not trying to fight he doesn't care anymore. I explained I'm talking to Ryan who you spoke with to try and resolve your issue.

Ryan and me got off the phone with a semi resolution. He was going to talk to Jim the CEO and see if there was a way that I will buy another nexus but have them ship it directly to him with all the proper paperwork.(this once again fully covered by us no cost to OP) Ryan called me back and said unfortunately they can't ship to non vendors. However they can ship to me, and i can ship to him. I called OP back and let him know that my intentions where to purchase the nexus go live on tik tok or Instagram. Unbox it give it fresh water, rebox it drive it to the post office and drop it off for 1 day ship to him to arrive Thursday of next week. (I do the monthly sub box so my orders coming Wed he would receive Thur) this is all going to be live.

I just want to clarify a few major issues, I responded to every personal text and voice call within 1 hour. This post was made within 10 minutes of not answering one of his texts due to putting my children to sleep. (The same night he got the coral and minutes after emailing ecc and not talking to anyone)

Anyone can say bad things but I feel like I have went above and beyond with a resolution to include a full live video stream of a new nexus going to him. I have given away so many free things at 0 cost every weekend no buy in no entry fee NO RAFFLE! THIS WAS NOT A RAFFLE this was a simple thank you for following us joining our lives and commenting on our posts. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. He has known via text and phone conversations our plan with ecc to make things right for him. And still is commenting on here how we are scamming him. I have no intentions on scamming anyone ever. I've given away so much to the community we have over on tik tok and never an issue. I have had people that have got doa sadly and we do full shipment replacements of items and free shipping to them even when ups was at fault with a delay.

While the nexus was the final give away that night there was also tons of high end torchs/hammers rainbow gonis and a slew of other items that everyone was beyond excited about. Not only were all items in a ship out tank but weeks leading up to thjs we would consistently show exactly to the T what was givin away. The only thing that changed that night is we felt certain prizes were not good enough and added more. I can't stress this enough exactly what he saw under my lights is what he received it was my only nem and has been for months besides my Chicago in the main display.

For those in the comments saying ohh the extra entries if you spend money was a grab I understand but no one was required to spend anything while people did there was a total of over 500 entries and not even 30 of them spent enough for a free entry. At this point it doesn't matter if we send him anything for free again. I have been more than willing to work with him. I have answered every text,phone call or message within 1 hour. This is the entire story.

For those that think we are scammers I'm sorry. I never would do anything to hurt or tarnish our name. We love what we do and we are always willing to help people. If you ever see us on a live we are normally just talking and sharing reef stories building a community.

Clearly a coordinated defense here. 3 new members all pop in to defend the unnamed vendor. The thing is, just because one person had a good experience with a vendor does not mean someone else did not. It's also clear that Nexus Bursts that split into clones with only one color are being marketed and sold differently than those with both colors present, which makes sense given anyone purchasing a "Nexus Burst" wants the bi-color grafted looking BTA.

If the OP actually saw this nem before hand then a case can be made they should have known, but it does not change the fact that anyone expecting a "ECC Nexus Burst" BTA would be unhappy with what was given. It does not matter how entries into the drawing were obtained. Call it what you want, raffle, drawing, whether it was free to play or not doesn't change that if I'm supposed to "win a Nexus Burst" it should be a Nexus Burst. The cost of entry should however affect a potential resolution to the matter.

I would never sell one a 100% green or orange Burst without making sure the buyer knows it's not bicolor and for much cheaper than a bicolor, hence the "Joker" and "Blaze" designations. Perhaps the vendor made an honest mistake, but it's still a mistake.

Wild comment. The OP has not named the vendor...OP is doing exactly what they should, trying to figure it out without outing a vendor if it's not truly warranted.

The point of the comment was just that anyone can come here and say something without realizing the truth. And said vendor has replied in this thread.

With regards to your clearly coordinated defense. When I get a message about this vendor being a scammer and *I* felt the most important part was to step up and say the opposite because no business should get a bad rap when unearned. The internet gets one side and court of public opinion gets involved thinking that everything is true when it wasn’t told correctly. He invited my criticism of his experience and he invited my response by reaching out to me like he did several other regulars in the lives.

I am as transparent as I can be and I shared I have won things from this vendor as well. Including when he did live bidding on a holy grail that was listed on his site for $600. I went to $605 fully intending to pay that amount. He refused to accept that because that was over his price. He selected the people willing to pay $600 for it and wrote a number on the side of the tank out of camera view and had us guess the number he wrote and first person got it. I got it and I still intended to pay the $605 because that is my word when I place a bid.

Stating someone is scamming someone else is serious. I am still new to this community myself. But I have owned my own IT company and had to deal with this too where I had to step up and bring the receipts because people will lie or not properly give context. And based on the information just now posted the vendor is still trying to make this right out of their pocket. That means being out the cost of the original item + shipping, the mental hit from being called over and over, his time, a new nexus + shipping. These are not behaviors of scammers. This is a business trying to show their supporting documentation to a customer. A customer taking it further, and the vendor working to find a solution to prove to him and the community at large he is serious about his commitment to customer service.
