Good morning,
I hope someone has some insight. I received a pair of clown fish on Wednesday afternoon via ups. Last night they started acting funny. Movements and they seemed to be breathing really hard. This morning the male unfortunately didn’t make it. I don’t think the female is far behind. She has been sitting on the bottom breathing really heavily. I have had them in a qt tank since they arrived. They also haven’t eaten since arrival.
I can’t see anything obvious to me on the fish.
I did test the parameters of the shipping water and matched them as best as possible.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Acclimation here is important
You want to match the salinity- main goal
Did you use any of the bag water?
Contact sender right away while this gets sorted out

I did acclimate. I used the bag of water and introduced the QT water slowly. I did test the salinity and both were exactly the same.

Using the bag water is a no-no and if the process was not done correctly may have caused ammonia to become toxic

Ammonia toxicity goes up when the bag is open, thus removing from this water is important.
Just let her be, not much else you can do except lower salinity to say 1.020 if you can do that, this might help respirations.

If you used the acclimation procedure recommended by your vendor - I would ask them for replacements. Though there are several issues with acclimation - the major things are ammonia and salinity.
