As seems to be the trend, I have been on a Evo 13.5 and a IM 10 for a while and I've been slowly collecting the pieces, looking at my 40L in storage and decided this month is the month!

I've collected the majority of everything except the lighting is still in the air.

I purchased a Apex Sky thinking that would work but now not so sure it'll cover the area. has anyone with this tank ever tried one? I can always reuse my XR15 gen 5 and maybe buy an other but that would be a waste of an Apex sky!

Anyway the gear is as follows

IM 40L tank
Custom Stand (purchased from someone with this tank used)
Sicce SDC 3.0 pump
2 MP10 Powerheads
2 Media caddy and one refugium caddy from Intank
IM Helio heating usit with a 200w and 100w backup element
Apex Sky lighting
Apex system with Trident and 2 DOS units
IM Aquagadget Minimax reactor
Tunze ATO
Swapping out the Battery backup systems from Ecotech batteries to the Reefboxx, was impressed by the system from the last Reefapalooza...
not sure about a chiller yes, I have one but not sure if I wanna run one

Livestock making the move
2 clowns
a pink streaked wrasse
2 mandarins at about half an inch (Biota ones, they eat frozen and are also getting fat by my pod cultivating efforts)

Just wanted to start this thread as the adventure begins of moving everything. Wife wanted a new couch, I wanted a bigger tank, Deals were made ;)

I think the apex sky light (assuming you mean the neptune sky?) would be plenty for that tank, maybe even overkill. Congrats on the new system, hope the couch wasn't too expensive :grinning-squinting-face:

the tank is 40 liters, right?

I believe the fixture in question is 200 watts and can easily cover 24x30 inches according to the specs, so unless you're talking about a different fixture, you should be able to grow just about anything you like with it.

The measurements are:
  • Display DIMS: Length 34.79” Width: 16” Height: 12.99”
I was at first thinking just using one arm or possibly using a rail since I cant hang it from the ceiling!

Link!

Still in storage waiting for the electrical to be rewired :/
But in the meantime Im building my frag tank for some frags and sort of a holding space until that systems up and running! I think my biggest worry is the Apex Sky not being enough/Too shadowy and I'd need 2 or just have to redo the whole lighting!

I stared with an Evo too - and then went to a Red Sea Nano Max - and then IM 40L. Love the IM!
