Hello. I am planning on keeping a 16 gallon tank with lps and anemones. I was planning on starting a phytoplankton and copepod cycle so my aquarium the corals already have food and so the copepods also have food but then reading online I found that using a protein skimmer will kill the plankton. So I was wondering should I just manually feed the coral and copepods and keep the protein skimmer or just use a canister filter and keep the plankton? Thanks

Keeping a reef aquarium is difficult enough without also trying to create a self feeding system. Hand feed the coral. Then you will know how much they are being fed.
