Hello looking for some advice. I’m planning on upgrading my current tank (150g with dual over flows with DIY 75 gallon sump to new tank of In the next few month.

I’m in between the following tanks

Glasscages 224 $4,300

SCA Aquarium 240 $3,000 (couldn’t find any reviews on there bigger tanks)

planet Aquarium I believe is similar price as SCA

Building my own stand not a problem I understand it will be added to the cost of the tanks mentioned above plus sump

Or just buying (big box) brand:

Waterbox 230 biggest one they make ($4500)

Redsea 1000 $7000

I’d I can save some money on a build while keeping quality will be ideal but I’m not sure if that’s possible in this hobby .

I recommend Glasscages for the quality and also for their customers service they go out and beyond to help and answer any questions. I own a 180 gallon rimless tank from them and most likely upgrade to a bigger tank from in the near future.

What about innovative marine 200?
They look nice and seem like a quality build.

Seconding Innovative Marine, their tanks are probably your best value for size. The 200 EXT for tank, (metal) stand and sump are just under $5k.

If Red Sea and Waterbox systems at $7k+ are in your set, CADE should be on your list as well. Excellent quality and design in their systems, just pricey (but worth it)!

Thanks for the comparison. Awesome. @jonreefs

Regarding gallons, many dimension combinations can make up desired gallons. What are your desired dimensions?

the $4,300 is for a 72 x 18 x 40 Tall. Are all the prices mentioned for that same dimension combination?

price range $1,700 to 6k for that desired gallons all based on different dimensions.

comparing apples to apples vs apples and oranges. We love what we do and here to support!

I'm voting glass cages. I'm currently saving for a 4ft 120 for the extra depth over the 90 aquarium master tank I have. From my research they are a great investment in quality and customer service. Price Wise I have not come across a better quality at their price point. Just wish I knew about them before buying my reef ready 90.
