pistol shrimp ID

I have found 3 pistol shrimp that came in as hitch hikers in my live rock. I have been hearing them for a while and saw them for the first time this week. They are VERY shy. So unfortunately I don't think there is any way I can get a pic. I will try, but I have only seen them once and they would only come out for a second or two and as soon as they saw any movement they would retreat. In fact I had to stand off to the side of the tank or they wouldn't even come out.

From the look that I got, they are definately some sort of pistol shrimp with one beefy claw in the typical shape of a pistol shrimp and I do hear them every once in while. They are all blueish/purplish/greyish in color and lighten in color toward the tail to a creamish/whitish color. Two of them seem to be a pair as they share the same crevice, the pair has a size diference with the larger being about 2cm and the smaller about 1.5 cm. The 3 one has it's own crevice about 4" away. It is about the size of the smaller one.

I am not really looking for a definate ID of the shrimp, just wanting some feedback from people if there is a way to tell if they are going to be pests or not. I know some pistol shrimp can be bad, but some are fine.

Take a water bottle and cut the top off it and put it back into the bottle upside down to create a funnel. Then put some food in it and place it next to their entrance. Place it there right before lights out and in the am you will have caught them. This will allow you to take a pic and some one on here will be able to identify them. Good luck...

I have tried that a number of times. The peppermint shrimp loves it.

I could try multiple traps though... never thought of that before. Catch the pep in one and that way the other would be open for the littler guys.
