Hey, I'm curious and have a question...I'm really just curious about the advantages of buying a premade kit vs. just building your own using common supplies that you can buy from Amazon or probably Walmart which wouldn't cost very much (I haven't added up the total cost but the kits seem to be very simple and the main components are a 1 gallon jar with a lid, tube, Starter phyto, and the fertilizer which you would need to continuously buy). I'm only addressing the phytoplankton because I really don't see any advantage to culturing copepods since you should be able to easily sustain a population in your tank without constantly adding more. What are the particular advantages of purchasing a kit which would cost more than making your own? (I understand MANY companies sell kits btw, not only you guys and honestly, I applaud you for your entrepreneurial spirit that led you to start your own business)!

From my stand point the benefits to buying a kit (which yes you can put together yourself) is first, that we have already setup and operated these kits as sold, so you know you are getting everything you need. When I first started it was difficult and time consuming to gather everything I needed. Second is with our kits you get the starters and fertilizer to run the kit for approximately a year. But the biggest advantage with ours even over other kits on the market, is I send instructions for operating the kit, and supply personal mentorship with email, text or phone calls to give someone the best chance of being successful.
