Hello all, 1st time reefer here with a used Fluval 13.5 that I am going to use in my new office space at work. Have some experience with freshwater tanks my son and I have at home housing bettas, corys, cherry shrimp, snails, etc. Got used equipment dirt cheap on FBM and have the perfect spot for it at work.
Stock Return Pump
Stock Lid w/ Light (has broken plastic on both the lid and rear chamber cover)
Fluval ps2 Protein Skimmer
Kraken Lid
Nicrew 50W
Fluval Heater
Mag Float Scraper
Center Hole Plugged
Sicce Syncra 1.0
10LB White Marco Dry Rock (local custom)
Small Purple Marco Dry Rock Island
1/2" RFG with 3 Extra Knuckles (local custom 3D printed)
Spare Fluval Heater
Intank Media Basket for Chamber 1
Ceramic Bioballs
Caribsea Live Reef Sand
LFS Saltwater & RODI Water
Jug Plugs (for my three 5G water jugs, FRODI, SALTY, & JOE DIRT )
10 Gallon Tsunami Reservoir (will mod for ATO)
API Saltwater Master Test Kit
Dr Tims One and Only
Dr Tims Ammonium Chloride
Intank Filter Floss
1/4" Egg Crate
Added rock, sand, salt water, Dr Tims One and Only, & ammonium chloride on Wednesday June 5, so I'm pretty good so far in the cycle.
Chamber 2: Ceramic Bioballs
Chamber 3: Sicce 1.0 & Heater
Readings are looking good considering I live a good distance from work, so there is no checking it on the weekends unless I'm around. Running stock lid and a cardboard surround for the dark phase @ approx. 82°F.
Now just a waiting game and excited for the ugly stage!
Once settled add CUC, shrimp, goby, and mod chamber 2 with the egg crate to accept the PS2 skimmer height, and move the bioballs to bottom basket in chamber 1.
Then go ham on the corals. LFS has awesome selections of live stock about 30 mins from work.
Mod the tsunami reservoir for ATO. Fits perfect in the cubby on this stand! Will rotate 180° when I drill and grommet the stand for the fittings/hoses to go through the back.
Looking forward to learning and evolving with this tank. Think I'm set up properly so far, open to all comments and suggestions! Photo dump, about in order, maybe...stay tuned!

Status:
Tank cleaned up pretty good with some water and vinegar. All stock equipment works but since the return pump was missing a suction cup I just went ahead and got a Sicce 1.0 and keeping the stock pump for backup. Nicrew light works good so I wont worry about upgrading my light until later.Added rock, sand, salt water, Dr Tims One and Only, & ammonium chloride on Wednesday June 5, so I'm pretty good so far in the cycle.
Current Chamber Setup:
Chamber 1: Intank Media Basket with Top Filter Floss and 2nd/3rd Baskets EmptyChamber 2: Ceramic Bioballs
Chamber 3: Sicce 1.0 & Heater
