You mean this type of plant fertilizer?

I bought some chaetogro and put a bit in the tank, but this is quite a bit more economical...
I use organic kelp concentrate. In my experiences, ChaetoGrow is inorganic & overpriced. I have used several vendors, I am not sure which is best (depending on our definition of best). I went with economical.

Not sure that has iron and label shows it has 1% chlorine.

I have rfa’s, mushrooms and derasa in my sump. Peppermints and cleaner didn’t bother any of them. They cleaned out the aiptasia. Slowly withered away. I don’t feel that the detritus is enough. You will need to feed them.

0-0-1 refers to the Big 3: N-P-K, so their concentrate has 1% of Potassium and does not list trace minerals.

This is a Norwegian company. Not sure why they don’t list the trace minerals.

Supposedly has metals but not listed and why I'm asking because doesn't appear to be a replacement for ChaetoGro

I would not purchase it.

Important information for

Ingredients
Sulfur,Magnesium,Calcium,Sodium,Boron,Iron,Manganese,Copper,Zinc,Carbohydrates

ChaetoGrow Ingredients:

Guaranteed Analysis:
  • Potassium (K) as Soluble Potash (K2O) (min) 1.30%
  • Boron 0.009%
  • Carbon 0.005%
  • Calcium 0.14%
  • Chlorine 0.39%
  • Cobalt 0.0004%
  • Iron 0.1%
  • Magnesium 0.4%
  • Manganese 0.0475%
  • Molybdenum 0.004%
  • Sulfur 0.16%
  • Zinc 0.002%

PS: When I sent Gracilaria Parvispora to a regional agriculture lab: both Copper & Zinc showed up at 10ppm and 5ppm when makeup water showed zero copper or zinc with a sensitivity of 1 ppb.

Also, the ratio of N/P was 30/1 and the ratio of K/N was 5/1 thus the ratio of Potassium to Phosphate is 150/1.

Note: The only ingredient listed for Maxicrop was Potssium at 1%.

This and NeoPhos/NeoNitro the only Brightwell products I trust. I use MB7 but not sure it's doing anything

ALSO, anyone know if peppermints will eat baby RFAs? @Ron Reefman ? @jkcoral ?

I’ll never trust a peppermint shrimp.

Only things I’ve seen that are real threats to RFAs are cold water, a broken foot, and peppermint shrimp!

I realize I'm late to the game here, but then I've been busy with clean up after Hurricane Milton. I agree with jkcoral, I would not trust baby RFAs with a peppermint shrimp.

And just a note here, I've had one order of RFAs that were from Central America and 4 out of 5 died in the first 2 weeks. The 5th has survived for months and I feel it's probably OK. I've been hearing more and more situations like mine about RFAs that are NOT from the Caribbean.

Coral Banded Butterfly fish are very similar to opportunistic shrimp. Depending on individual personalities, “It’s hit or miss”. I would not put an expensive CBB in a refugium.

I run high nutrient systems that are skimmerless & filterless, except for cryptic refugium and reverse flow undergravel filter.
Hi there - intrigued by use of reverse flow UG filter - can you please give me details on how you have your system set up? Much appreciated !
