Parasite Help

I’ve noticed this leech/worm looking thing on my clownfish before. Last time it appeared I dosed the tank with Herbtana for 10 days as is recommended and it fell off and stayed off.

I assumed if it could not reattach and feed it would die. Alas, here we are a month later and it is back. My clown is still active and eating well with no other signs of sickness or disease. This thing has only ever affected her and my late flame hawk. The goby has, knock on wood, never been afflicted with this.

Any clue on what this is and how to treat it would be welcomed.

Although Im not sure on the species, to me it looks almost like a flatworm. Im no expert but ive never seen one parasitize a fish like that though.

That was the best picture I was able to grab of her and it was from last time she had it. She’s very active so it’s tough to grab a still shot of her. I’m trying to upload a video if her now.

If it was my fish, I would probably try dosing some Prazi and see if it knocks it off.

Is that reef safe? I’m unfamiliar with it, can you please show me the product?

Yes, its generally considered reef safe. I've dosed it to my DT multiple times and never had any issues, although I prefer to use it in a QT tank setting when possible.

You can dose it to your DT without worry.

A freshwater dip might knock it off too? That might be another option for you.

If you can catch the fish, why not try manually getting it off her?

Once I stick fish in my tank I generally try not to catch them.

1. I’m terrible with the net. They always evade me
2. I feel like me chasing after them stresses everyone in the tank out and it could weaken their immune system more thus making them more susceptible to whatever is ailing them.

Update: it’s been maybe a couple of hours after the first dose of Herbtana and whatever that thing was on its tail has fallen off. I wish I had seen where so that I could scoop it out. For now however it is off.
