They're so beautiful but I'd be too scared for my SPS.
They don’t actually eat SPS. Their natural diet is the mucus from millepora polyps. They will definitely annoy SPS though, so if you like polyp extension they aren’t for you.

Awesome!

I've got 2 pair. Masstick and freshly hatched brine shrimp is what they are eating. I feed mostly Masstick.
Do you keep them in the same tank? Mine love all kinds of pellets and frozen as well as Masstick. The Panta Rhei pellets are great (both varieties), Chroma Boost also has some tiny pellets that they seem to like.

They are seperate. I'm adding flakes, pellets (all types) mysis and even brine shrimp. But they still won't touch it yet. I'm ok with that since they have nice round bellies at the end of the day by continuously eating the Masstick and picking at the bottom.

Quick question, when you say "freshly hatched brine shrimp", do you mean literally dropping the brine shrimp straight into the tank the day they hatch, and the fish can actually see it when they're so small?

I've always been terrible with taking pics, but I kept a group 8 or 10 years ago in an 80 gal. species only tank. They would chase each other but no damage.

I fed 48 hr. naups, cyclopeeze (was still available then), chopped mysids and probably live adult brine. I would also give them Pocillopora and Montipora sp. to pick on.

You can buy brine shrimp eggs and hatch them in a jar or bottle in about 24 hrs, they’re small, but you can see them and the fish can too.

As Rtaylor stated I hatch them seperately and then feed to the fish as soon as they hatch. I turn off pumps/filtration for about 30 minutes.

Yes, they can see them.

I currently have 4 orange spotted filefish. I’ve had 3 males for about 9 months and 1 female for about 4 months. Adding the single female has made my males a bit aggressive. I’m receiving 3 females tomorrow that I’m hoping will arrive healthy and maybe calm down the boys a bit. I’d love to hear anyone else’s experiences keeping groups of these fish. I haven’t been able to find much information and I hope adding a group of ladies doesn’t make the boys even crazier
