Just as the title says really?
They’re not rectangular, they’re literally red, spherical… and scooting around the water column. I’ve been trying to do research on it but I’m not finding any answers. Red bugs don’t look like them either- the entire body is one solid color.

I’ve seen copepods before and those look more like little bugs. These look literally like red grains of sand that started to swim…

I would appreciate any thoughts on what to search specifically too, I really want to make sure these are not harmful to my tank!

Sorry for trash quality as usual:

Drawing a blank here. Did make me wonder if Flatwoods can swim though. :)

They have two, TINY almost microscopic eyes—- that’s when I thought the Seed shrimp? Ostracods! The lady I got some macros from have them in her system. that’s just my guess though, they multiplied so fast in my tank I had a heart attack…

I was scared it was fluke larvae or something !
