This Orange Back Fairy Wrasse has been in my tank for over a year and always looked pretty healthy. I’d been concerned about what looked like scale damage probably 6-8 months ago but he’s been good since then and always the first to eat. Today, he suddenly looks completely beat up. His eyes are clear, he’s still just as active as always and eating like a champ. Of course, I leave for a week vacation tomorrow too.
I do have a pair of Neon Blue Gobies and the female has been a little aggressive in her cleaning attempts of him this morning. I also have a pair of Cleaner Shrimp, a pair of Peppermint Shrimp and a Fire Shrimp, all of which try to clean the fish but don’t do so as much as the Goby.
Could any of them have done this much damage? I am with my tanks most of the day everyday and I hand feed my fish, I feel like I would have noticed this yesterday if he looked like this. Any thoughts?
