I am starting a 60x20x20 tank, the person I bought it from here in Mexico had an OR3 blue plus light in it, I am looking at lighting options and was wondering what would I need if I only wanted to add more OR3 to it to be able to grow and color SPS dominated tank.

Thank you

I light my 60x30x30 with a reefbreeders 50 v2+ with 2x OR3 blue sky's. I've been impressed by the color of the blue sky's, however, their par is not very high which is ok since the RB is the workhorse. One downside you'll find is the OR3's are not dimmable. However, if you like OR3's, they make the Atlantic/Icon series which are dimmable.

I would consider those like I consider T5

So either 4 or 6 strips

Alternating blue, full color

I had good luck with emailing them to ask questions. The Osix will control some of the bars not all.

You can and 1-2 more will be adequate. Running Orphek only, I would recommend two OR3 sky blue lights

The new bars are dimmable and even have a moonlight program that mimics the lunar cycle.

Only certain models + it costs $ to do so via upgrade

Compatible with the Osix and iCon Dim

  • All OR3 60 & 120 models are compatible with the Osix and iCon Dim
  • Normal OR3 90 & 150 models are NOT compatible with the Osix and iCon Dim,
  • For Order or Upgrade OR3 90 & 150 to dim version for Osix and iCon Dim , Contact us !

That is beautiful, in an industrial sort of way

Reefers controlled lights with on and off timers for decades, and grew corals just fine. Dimming and whatnot is mostly for humans, mostly

Yeah I wanted to run them but the 18+" of mounting height made it a no go. I have a canopy on both tanks I was looking at starting. Saw them on a tank with the same size canopy as mine too much spot lighting and disco for me. Saw them on the same tank after with a floating canopy about 20" off water looked much better but I could still see color separation.

Was referring to the OR4 which has been available for a few months.

Looks like you can order the 90 and 150 ready to go. I am unsure what the upcharge would be. If op has a normal 150 or 90 an upgrade kit would be necessary.

I have not seen these on the website for sale yet. Are they elsewhere available? I have seen some reviews but did not watch them.
