Hey, I was wondering if anybody would recommend buying used setups on FB marketplace, offer up etc. I'm on a budget for a new build, and there's local listings of AI prime 160's for $75, 32 gal biocube with stand for $250, stuff like that. It seems appealing, considering I could reset the tanks. I wouldn't necessarily buy equipment but aquariums seem realistic.
I was wondering if anybody has done this, and what your thoughts are. Thanks

I bought a 125 used. I just bought a 300 gallon used too. Always go see it first to check it out and if its in good shape you can get a really good deal! The one I found is easily over 10k in equipment for a fraction of the cost

I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase a small tank used. Larger tanks make me nervous because of improper setup.

Setups?

All of them are way overpriced in my area

When you are buying aquariums, you are buying all of the scratches they have put in the glass or acrylic

And their waterlogged stands

Many of them are priced as if they are including their labor charge setting them up

Not saying I haven't bought. I have.
